New York City Imagine Awards honor IMPACTabilit
The New York City Imagine Awards highlight excellence in the nonprofit sector. Their founder, Ken Cerini of Cerini & Associates, envisioned a way to invest in the success of area nonprofits through an awards program that includes grantmaking, promotional video production, relationship-building opportunities, and increased exposure. This year, members of their judging panel sought outstanding nonprofit organizations serving the five boroughs in six categories: DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion and/or accessibility), Arts and Culture, Innovation, Leadership Excellence, Rising Star and Social Impact. Almost 250 nonprofits applied for consideration. Four finalists were chosen in each category.
The panel named IMPACTability a finalist in the DEIA category for our CareerReady! program. Bronx resident Pam Judd explained that she founded IMPACTability, “to fight for equal access to employment opportunities for college students with disabilities. As a volunteer-led nonprofit, we’re honored to be a finalist,” she added. “We open doors for CUNY students with disabilities through our free career readiness and mentoring certificate program, CareerReady!.”
IMPACTability will receive $1000 in program funding, a professionally produced video to help illustrate our work, a showcase at the Imagine Awards gala, and a chance to vie for one of six grand prize grants of $5000. “The Imagine Awards honors the best of the best, so being named an Imagine Award finalist is a big deal,” said Cerini. “All of the finalists are incredible with extremely effective, innovative, and impactful operations … they are truly making a difference for all of us.”
Grand prize winners will be announced live at the gala event, which will be hosted by Sonia Rincón of WABC-TV Eyewitness News on October 17, 2023 at Guastavino’s, 409 E. 59th St., New York, NY. For those looking to attend either in-person or online, tickets are available for purchase.
