Mentoring 4 Impact Mock Interview Workshop Review
By Tommy Reynolds
As part of the Mentoring 4 Impact Fall 2020 virtual workshop program, Session 7 was hosted on November 12th, and was devoted to the mock interview and the ways in which it benefits an individual in the live interview.
Beginning with the attendees participating in mock interviews, feedback was given on professionalism, transferability, and engagement. Students were told how professional they came across, how well they explained their skills and how much it appeared they wanted the job they were interviewing for. Enthusiasm and the level of demonstrated interest in a job cannot be underrated.
Numerous interview tips were given to the participants, most notably to be confident, smile, and make eye contact throughout the interview. In addition, it was recommended to revisit an already given answer at the end of an interview. Lastly, it is fine to ask for clarification of a question that is not clear.
