October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This year is the nation’s 75th observance of NDEAM, which is administered by the Department’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). The observance culminates the Department’s commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Out of the 16.6 million undergraduate college students in the United States, 3.3 percent have a disability. Visit www.dol.gov/ndeam to learn more.
NDEAM’s 2020 theme is “Increasing Access and Opportunity”. In the City University of New York system (CUNY), there are over 9,000 students with disabilities. Image Impact launched our exciting Mentoring 4 Impact online program on October 1, 2020. This program empowers CUNY Guttman students with disabilities to become self-advocates. We champion diversity, equality and inclusion and foster professional growth. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation using this secure link. |
